What is a Wiki?

A wiki is an easy-to-use Web site that makes it easy to collaborate. A wiki is a website with an 'edit' button on it. Anyone coming to a wiki page can click on edit and add to, re-organize, remove from and otherwise adjust the content on the page.

How do you pronounce wiki? Where does the name come from?

Wih-key (or WICK-ee) : it was named after the inventor, Howard Cunningham, rode the Wiki Wiki Road buses in Honolulu.

How do I start collaborating?

We advise that you start searching around the wiki and looking for something that inspires you...then jump right in! Hit that edit button and add your content! You can also start a new page or section altogether (just click the New Page button) and go to town. :)

You can do something as simple as starting a HotelShare page to as complex as starting a CrazyNewProject.
